The Operations Supervisor will be responsible to supervise and coordinate the activities of union staff involved in custodial services and event setup and teardown that are essential to providing a memorable experience for our guests and community members, by ensuring that our venues are safe and welcoming.
As the Operations Supervisor you will

Implement appropriate policies, programs, and services to ensure effective utilization of resources and regulatory compliance.
-
Model enthusiastic, encouraging, friendly and positive professional behavior in-person while coaching the team to emulate these values as well.

Utilize a variety of collaborative software programs to supervise, prioritize, assign and review the work of staff involved in custodial services and the set-up, tear-down and clean-up of events.

Provide leadership, training and guidance to Event Custodians, Utility Leads and Utility Maintenance Technicians.

Plan, prepare and update employee work schedules in software scheduling program.
-
Create and maintain scheduling for third party service appointments as needed.

Assist in establishing documented standard operating procedures for cleaning/maintenance, set-up, and general event support activities.

Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure service levels are appropriate and work is performed efficiently and timely.

Maintain and manage department supplies and equipment inventory; order supplies, materials and equipment as needed.

Provide on-going inspection of building and grounds; rapid response to issues. Identifies building needs and initiates corrective action.

Actively support and advance the agency’s efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace to create safe and welcoming spaces for all staff, clients and guests.

Ensure work is performed in compliance with codes, ordinances, regulations, and other requirements, including but not limited to, OSHA and GBAC (Global Biorisk Advisory Council).

Perform and assist with cleaning duties and event set-ups and teardowns when needed.

Proven record of analyzing information to resolve issues and problems using logic.

Outstanding ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all persons contacted in the course of work.

Ability to read and interpret diagrams and floor plans.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task; must be highly organized and flexible to change course of work/projects as circumstances dictate.

Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Minimum qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; AND

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in commercial operations, facilities, custodial or housekeeping work in a comparable facility; AND

Minimum of 1 year of lead and/or supervisory experience; OR
-
We will consider any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum of two (2) years or more of supervisory/lead experience.

Previous lead/supervisory experience in a unionized environment.

Experience using Microsoft 360, Ungerboeck, PowerBi, Kronos and/or When2Work programs.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND REPRESENTATON
The full salary range for this position is step # 1, $73,190.00 to step # 7, $98,081.00 annually.
However, unless a candidate’s qualifications justify, based on the Oregon Pay Equity Act requirements and Metro’s internal equity review process, the appointment will likely be made between Step 1, $73,190.00 to the equity range Step # 4, $84,726.00 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime and is non-represented. It is classified as a Setup and Operations Supervisor (Download PDF reader) classification.
