Full Job Description

Our swimmers are not only diving into great lessons, our team is also diving into great opportunities! At Goldfish Swim School, we care about teaching children to be safer in and around the water, while making their experience Golden. A Manager On Duty is responsible for ensuring the success of our swim lessons by training, managing and motivating a successful team, coordinating and reviewing class schedules and ensuring you have a school that’s set up for success at every lesson. You’ll guide new team members and families through their first days at Goldfish and be there to support them as they progress in our program and in life.

Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to:

Provide a positive staff culture from day 1 and offering open, honest communication in a positive and nurturing environment
Train a team who provides the same quality work as you and doing quality work yourself by cross-training in multiple roles, substituting when necessary and representing Goldfish Swim School’s core values
Do the right things, making the right decisions and treating people with integrity, compassion and trust
Understand and lead the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to Goldfish Swim School’s standard operating procedures
Provide training to staff and stay on track with quarterly and annual enrollment goals and any subsequent goals intended to measure success
Create and implement a plan of action when quarterly and annual goals are off track
Gain high level competency in class bookings, scheduling, reporting and administrative functions as well as the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, swim lesson quality standards and safety standards

What else do you need to know?

Everyone in our building is lifeguard CPR & AED certified, so you must be able to pass a basic swim test (50 yards) to earn your certification. All management team members will also obtain their Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
You will direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures for the school
We require schedule availability that includes some weekday evenings (until 8:30pm) and at least one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shift per workweek and be able to work the same scheduled days every week (Ex. Every Monday from 8:30-4:30)

Our pools are disinfected by a Nexgen chlorination system and additionally filtrated through a UV system to provide the safest swimming environment. Our state-of-the-art ventilation system allows fresh air to continuously circulate into our building, further minimizing the spread of any airborne virus. Industry experts note that indoor pools and pool operator are far superior at minimizing virus transmission than most indoor spaces.
