Overview:
Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel is looking for a Full-time AM Greeter and Cashier.

Position Summary: As an AM Restaurant Greeter and Cashier, you play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests and fostering a collaborative environment for our associates. This individual demonstrates exceptional customer service skills. The successful candidate demonstrates a positive approach to teamwork and supports co-workers both in spirit and in practice assisting when and where it is needed.
Scheduling: This is a Full-Time position, working primarily 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM, and requires open availability, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs. The schedule will change weekly to support operational requirements, with some PM shifts required.
This position ensures hotel guests have a wonderful and satisfactory experience in the restaurant dining room area, beginning with properly greeting and seating each guest in a professional and timely manner.
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Receive and seat guests following a rotation of stations.

Greet guests promptly and courteously.
- Ensure that server’s guest checks are handled accurately, efficiently and in compliance with Marriott policy and procedures.

Comply with company unit cash handling procedures.

Utilize restaurant Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system and best practices to process all transactions.

Maintain sanitation of cashier booth.
-
Assist as needed to ensure the smooth function of the entire dining room.

Complete required training and development.

Qualifications:
- A thorough understanding of the concept of customer service.

Able to easily engage in conversation with guests & staff alike in a courteous, professional manner.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to convey information and ideas clearly in the English language.

Capable of adapting to high-pressure periods and respond with a sense of urgency when necessary.

Ability to attend and respond to guest issues, including being proactive in anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving problems as they arise.

Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of 8-hr shift.

Moves throughout restaurant and kitchen areas.

Capable of frequent and repeated lifting, bending, stooping, and extending arms, to perform essential job functions.

A polished, professional appearance.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.
Experience
-
One (1) year of customer service, greeter, and/or cashier experience.
-
One (1) year of hospitality experience in a full-service, fine dining restaurant is preferred, but not required.
Licenses or Certificates
-
Ability to provide or obtain the Food Handler License issued by an accredited food handler training program in the state of Texas.
-
Ability to provide or obtain the Texas TABC Certification License by a TABC accedited provider.
Grooming/Uniforms
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
