Full Job Description

Foodland Super Market, LTD is locally owned and operated and has been doing business in Hawai`i for over 75 years. We are currently seeking a responsible, organized and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting department as Senior Accounts Payable Clerk.

This is a full-time, hourly position with excellent benefits (waiting period may apply) and the individual will be based at our corporate office in Kaimuki, Oahu.

Essential Functions:

Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Utilize accounting software to input and track financial data.
Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
Communicate with AP Supervisor to identify problems and solutions.
Acts as an escalation point for AP clerks to address and solve issues.
Works with AP Supervisor to streamline and improve processes.
Works with internal and external customers professionally and promptly.
Meets department deadlines according to established guidelines and procedures.
Researches and provides support documents for audit and payment discrepancies.
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
Research issues and/or discrepancies.
Follow established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
Prepare reports and summaries of financial data.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of data provided.

Educations and Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting.
High school graduate.

Required skills and abilities:

Proven accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable.
Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Data entry and word processing skills.
Must have strong verbal/written communication skills.
Must have ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work with a high sense of urgency.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to work well with others.
Must be able to handle confidential/sensitive information with the utmost professionalism.
Must be able to live by and embrace our core objectives of providing accurate work product.
Must comply with all company policies and requirements including dress code.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit.
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds.
