The Production Technician is responsible for the blending, compounding and packaging of all Mirachem formulations. This position works closely with Packaging and Customer Service functions to ensure quality material is available for order shipment and within set inventory levels. This position does not directly manage any staff, but is responsible for overseeing the blending process and supervising any staff in completion of that task.
Major Job Function:
Follow formulas and SOPs to blend raw chemicals into finished fluid that meets quality control specifications. Transfer fluid to storage tanks and/or packaging. Maintain equipment operation and area cleanliness.
Classification:
Full Time, Non-Exempt.

General Description:
The Production Technician is the primary person in the organization responsible for the blending of raw materials into finished fluids ready for packaging. General duties include operation of material handling equipment, working with blending tanks, transfer pumps, water filtration system, filling equipment, care and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Position will also include loading and unloading of trucks and other warehouse duties.
Mirachem is team-driven company. All employees are expected to assist in other areas of the company when the situation warrants, whether or not it relates to their primary function. This will include tasks such as office organization, work area clean up and maintenance, or other projects as requested by team members.
Specific Duties:
- Blending Mirachem formulations
- Maintenance of intellectual property, confidentiality and security
- Daily documentation, including lot tracking and usage, of all blending activities
- Certified accurate blending and quality assurance of each batch
- Submits batch samples to lab for quality control testing prior to release
- Routine communication with Technical staff on blending process and documentation
- Maintain accurate chemical inventories
- Coordination with Packaging and Shipping schedules
- Blending area safety and housekeeping

- Conform to dress and appearance standards
- Observe all safety requirements and conduct all duties in a safe and proper manner.
Work Schedule:
Regular company operating hours of 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Need for Supervision:
It many cases, the Production Technician will be working closely with the Production Manager. This position will be tasked to perform many duties without minute-to-minute supervision, but nearly always in close proximity to a manager. Daily tasks and priorities will be assigned by the Production Manager.
Education/ Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to neatly write routine documentation for lot and order tracking. Ability to speak effectively with suppliers, drivers and internal staff. Bi-lingual fluency in English/Spanish is helpful, but not required.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as draw and interpret bar and line graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to climb stairs and balance, as well as be able to smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up drums and other materials to 150 pounds.

Computer Skills:
Word processing, E-mail, and Internet software, either at time of hire or within three months of employment.
Technical / Specialized Skills:
Experience with chemicals, knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is preferred but not required at the time of employment.
Special Requirements:
Mirachem furnishes and/or provides shirts to satisfy Mirachem’s appearance and safety standards. Employees are required to provide for required clothing items that are not provided. This includes work pants that are not torn. Employees are required to wear steel-toed shoes, which are provided/reimbursed for by Mirachem.
Employees in this position must be certified to operate both sit-down lift trucks, as well as stand-up “picker” units.
