The Instructional Assistant Principal is a dynamic and experienced individual who will play a
pivotal role in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment while promoting
instructional excellence and student achievement. The Assistant Principal of Instruction will
collaborate with the lower school AP and report to the Principal. They will supervise a team of
teachers, support staff, a Dean, and an Instructional Coach.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
● Collaborate with the Principal and instructional staff to develop and implement the
RBCS Strategic Plan: Ready for Life 2028
● Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers in the planning,
implementation, and assessment of effective instructional practices.
● Conduct classroom observations and provide timely feedback to teachers to
enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
● Lead professional development initiatives to build teacher capacity in
research-based instructional strategies, differentiation, and assessment practices.
● Monitor student progress and achievement data to inform curriculum decisions
and identify areas for improvement.
Assessment and Data Analysis:
● Oversee the administration of standardized assessments and work with the
Instructional team to analyze assessment data to identify trends, patterns, and
areas for growth.
● Collaborate with teachers and the MTSS team to develop action plans based on
assessment results to improve student learning outcomes.
● Utilize data-driven decision-making processes to evaluate the effectiveness of
instructional interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
Coaching and Feedback:
● Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers on
instructional practices.
● Support teachers with real-time coaching and feedback
● In collaboration with the Instructional Coach, support teachers in setting goals and
developing action plans for professional growth.
● Provide ongoing coaching and support to help teachers implement new strategies
and improve their instructional practice.
Student Support and Discipline:
● Work collaboratively with the school counseling team and support staff to
implement positive behavior intervention strategies and provide social-emotional
support to students.
● Administer student discipline according to the RBCS code of conduct, ensuring
fairness, consistency, and adherence to due process rights.
● Foster a positive school culture and climate conducive to student learning and
well-being.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
● Work collaboratively with administrators, other instructional leaders, and other
stakeholders to align coaching efforts with school goals and priorities.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best
practices in education and instructional coaching.
● Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and strategies for improving
teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
● Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
● Middle Years Teacher certification preferred
● Valid state administrative certification or eligibility for certification.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience at the middle school level.
● Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in instructional supervision and
curriculum development.
● Strong understanding of educational best practices, research-based instructional
strategies, and assessment techniques.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community
stakeholders.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $95,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year
