Position Overview:
As a Nursing Department Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations within our nursing department. You will be responsible for coordinating schedules for nursing staff, optimizing staffing levels to meet patient care needs, and maintaining accurate records of staff assignments and hours worked.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule Coordination: Develop and maintain nursing schedules that ensure adequate coverage while adhering to regulatory requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Communication: Collaborate closely with nursing leadership to understand staffing needs and adjust schedules as necessary. Communicate effectively with staff regarding schedules and changes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, time worked, and attendance. Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Address scheduling conflicts and staffing shortages promptly and effectively. Proactively identify solutions to optimize staffing efficiency.
- Adaptability: Respond to unforeseen events and adjust schedules in real-time to meet emergent needs and ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in scheduling, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities.
