Lead Teacher Basic Job Information
The Lead Teacher position is located in the same building with two different companies owned by the same people.
The Lead Teacher position is with Create and Learn (CAL) Academy from 8:30am-3:30pm. CAL Academy is a small homeschool program, about 12 students, for kids of all abilities. You will work with a variety of kids who may be typically developing, have ADHD, Autism, or other disabilities. We do not have grade levels or classrooms split by age. All education is individualized where every child uses the curriculum that is best to meet their needs and abilities. Teaching is also done individualized and independently with each student (no large group lessons). Our focus is on meeting children where they are at and helping them progress from there rather than putting them in a box based on their grade level or age.
Lead Teacher Job Description
Create and Learn Academy’s lead teacher is responsible for taking the considerations of the assistant teacher and parents into account and using those preferences to craft educational structures that allow the students to learn. The lead teacher is responsible for staying in contact and following the lead of both the Directors of Education and owners, Lauren Tavey and Claudia Zamora. The lead teacher will conduct their own class with the assistance of a teachers aide and the Director of Education. They will also have additional responsibilities, such as:
● Meeting with parents quarterly to discuss the goals and needs of students
● Coordinating with the Directors of Education to create individualized education plans for the students
● Tracking the academic performance of students for signs of progress

Responsibilities
❖ Represent CAL Academy professional and ethically
❖ Provide top-quality teaching under the direction of the Directors of Education
❖ Attends introductory and ongoing training
❖ Maintain accurate and timely records of students progress
❖ Reports to Directors of Education on students progress
❖ Participate in regular parent meetings

The school is located in the house on 905 Old Bagdad Rd Leander, TX 78641.
Qualifications
❖ Experience/interest in working with children
❖ Bachelor's degree in any field
❖ Availability of 30-40 hours per week
❖ No past criminal history
❖ Qualities: professional, organized, punctual, caring, and patient
❖ Basic iPad and computer skills
