WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Carpenter must have a minimum of year experience and be proficient in one or more of the following areas: framing and finish carpentry; furniture repairs and fabrication; cabinetry, millwork and casework, layout, fabrication and installation; door, door frame and hardware installation including closures and panic hardware; suspended and hard systems ceiling layout and installation.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Inspect and build carpentry related items throughout the property.
- Create precise and quality products in compliance with city codes and standards.
- Able to read and understand blueprints, work orders, and instructions related to areas needing inspection or repair
- Professional use of handle power tools and related carpentry tools
- Ability to hang large signage and artwork
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a 4 year accredited apprenticeship program; and be fluent in English.
- Must be able to read, understand and work from blueprints, drawings and sketches; and be proficient in the safe use of all trade related hand and power tools, safety and protective equipment.
- Must respond immediately to all emergency situations and calls.
- Will assist all other trades and crafts with routine and emergency work assignments.
- Minimum age requirement is 21
PREFERRED
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary for the success of the hotel.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust, and smoke.
- Close spaces while working with others.
- While work is performed outdoors, Team Member could be required to maneuvering for prolonged periods of time, both inside and outside, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
