The ideal OMP team member should have excellent attention to detail, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team. Availability to work overtime to support customer needs when needed. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. They also prepare items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards:
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifies and keeps records on all incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Greet truck drivers for pick ups and deliveries
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Pull, quality check and process all sample request shipping to clients
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the shipping area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position.
- Identifies and resolves problems on time; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem-solving situations
- Ability to develop and apply mathematical thinking to solve a range of problems in everyday situations. Involves basic arithmetic and numerical concepts and uses measurements and standard tools and formulas to calculate data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Accurate and organized record keeping skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years of similar work experience
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Majority of work performed in shop or office setting
- May be exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.
- Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some kneeling and crouching
- Approximately 80% of time is sitting at desk and 20% of time spent on feet in the offices and on the warehouse floor
