Boutique Law Firm hiring for a Litigation Paralegal. The Litigation Paralegal will have the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Cite check briefs and proficiently apply BlueBook citation formatting to submissions
- Create tables of contents and tables of authorities for briefs and memoranda
- Prepare and organize documents for filings in state and federal court, including hyperlinking as required
- Assist with all aspects of discovery, including organizing documents, maintaining electronic databases and coordinating document productions, Bates stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents
- Assist in coordinating depositions, including scheduling of court reporter and videographer
- Conduct factual research, including running searches on internal and external document databases and systems, culling relevant information from a variety of resources such as court dockets, newspapers, magazines, libraries, etc.
- Locate witnesses and assist in attorney preparation of witnesses for interviews, depositions and trials.
- Assist with trial preparation including organizing and marking exhibits, files and all other supporting documents and coordinating trial technology, set-up and logistics
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years litigation paralegal experience in a fast-paced litigation department of a law firm
- CITE EXPERIENCE A MUST
- Bachelor’s degree is required; paralegal certificate is a plus
- Exceptional organizational and investigative skills; excellent communication skills, including listening skills, and writing skills; able to prioritize deadlines
- Experience with all aspects of litigation including factual research; discovery; drafting notices, correspondence, pleadings, motions, orders, discovery responses; witness preparation; depositions; filing in state and federal court; trial preparation and trials
- Strong familiarity with document review and tagging databases such as Relativity, and other online versions of e-discovery tools
- Ability to use Lexis, Westlaw, NYSCEF, PACER, and other online sources for public document searches and case law
- High level of experience using a document management system (e.g., iManage) and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency working with PDFs
Compensation: $85,000 - $125,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
