Job Overview:
We are a Private Home Care Provider seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our team, in providing care to individuals with mental and intellectual developmental disabilities in the comfort of their own homes.
We provide services in the following counties: Barrow, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, Rockdale, and Walton, however currently we have a higher need for DSP employees in the Alpharetta and Roswell areas.
Having an healthcare background is preferred but not required for the position. We are looking for workers with big hearts and a genuine desire to make a difference by enriching our individuals quality of life.
Responsibilities:
-Depending on the individual needs assessment, you may be required to assist with daily living activities example: meal preparation, feeding, ambulation, personal hygiene, ambulation, bathroom assistance, light housekeeping, engage in interactive activities such as reading, coloring, board games, light gardening, and or engage in community activity with the individual or group of individuals.
- Assist clients with daily living activities
-Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties.
-Collaborate with clients and families for best care opportunities.
-Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals.
-Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment.
- Implement individualized care plans to meet the specific needs of each individual.
- Ensure individuals rights and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors effectively.
- Utilize proper body mechanics and assistive devices if lifting is required.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of patient care practices and procedures.
- Familiar with HIPAA regulations and resident rights.
- CPR certification required.
-Demonstrate compassionate and caring demeanor
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with individuals and families.
- Daily documentation of the individual activities and behaviors.
- Fingerprinting and background check is mandatory.
