Job Summary:
The Patient Access Associate works as part of the medical office team performing those clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit, to arrange for payment, and to make reappointments when necessary. Duties include making appointments, preparing medical charts, gathering third-party payment information, recording charges, and collecting fees.
Qualifications:
- The ability to relate with effectiveness to the public, the patient, and the health care providers.
- The ability to effectively perform several duties that are part of the medical office activities,
including the ability to perform basic mathematical functions consistently and correctly.
- The ability to be bonded for the handling of cash receipts.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients in courteous and professional manner and addresses questions.
- Ensues patient confidentiality, and provides patients with needed information.
- Observes patients in waiting room and reports any apparent illness or distress to clinical staff.
- Schedules appointments, prepares medical charts, and maintains smooth patient flow
throughout clinic.
- Gathers third party payment information for charges for patient services provided as
indicated on the encounter form.
- Establishes that each patient is advised of the Sliding Fee Scale and makes adjustments
accordingly.
- Collects and receives patient fees, and collects and maintains patient registration and
utilization data for the UDS report.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with applicable law and fully compliant and cooperate with clinic Compliance Program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
