Program Description:
Kidz Korner Children’s Center is an Early Education learning experiences to young children 2 to 5 years in areas of social/emotional, literacy, cognition (including math and science), physical development social studies, history and creative arts.
In our mixed age classroom children are provided an environment for learning through exploration and discovery. The adult role is to provide age-appropriate materials, play-based activities and attention and nurturing to facilitate children’s learning through play.

Assistant Teacher
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 semester hours of Early Childhood Education or equivalent (BA in ECE preferred)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience working in a licensed childcare program
- Knowledge and ability to follow all regulations outlined in Title 22
- Must have certification CPR, First Aid, Health and Safety
- Must successfully pass background checks, fingerprinting and health screening (including submission of negative TB test and verification of immunizations) prior to employment.
Duties:
- Ensure a safe, healthy and inspiring learning environment for children according to Title 22, NAEYC Best Practices, and CDC and DPH guidelines for COVID-19 safety protocol
- Knowledge of current child development theory and practices
- Collaborate with Lead Teacher and Teacher to implement a balanced curriculum to meet the needs of the whole child.
- Communicate effectively to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, co-workers and the community.
- Knowledge of DRDPs, ECERS and CLASS
- Openness to learning and collaboration with others. Communicate with Lead Teacher and Teacher daily to share each child's latest achievements and weaknesses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Physical Requirements:
· Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, sit, visually scan environment to ensure children’s safety indoors and outdoors.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
· Use of office machines and facility equipment.
· Daily set of large motor equipment outdoors.
Compensation:
Salary is based on a combination of education and experience. Full-time positions may require some overtime and occasional weekend hours for special center activities.
