PACKAGING OPERATOR
Mother Earth Brew Co is looking for a motivated person to join our team. We are located in Nampa, ID about 20 minutes from downtown Boise in a 40,000 square foot building. We produce about 30,000 bbls of beer per year, ranging from our flagship Cali Creamin' Vanilla Cream Ale to art inspired Project X Hazy IPAs. Job Overview
The Packaging Operator will follow all Standard Operating Procedures at Mother Earth to produce consistent, high-quality products as directed by the Director of Brewing Operations and Packaging Manager. The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating canning equipment, filling kegs, and cleaning and sanitation of brite beer tanks. Parallel to packaging responsibilities, they are responsible for a QA testing and record keeping as specified by the Packaging and Lab Managers to ensure quality checkpoints are met.
General Responsibilities
· Operate two Wild Goose WGC 250 canning lines, Ska Double Eagle depalletizer, Heuft Basic low fill/low pressure detector, Pack Leader PL-501 can labeler, and Paktech CCA 120/180
· Operate Anton Paar CBOX and piercing unit to check dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, and carbonation levels
· Check can seam specifications and suggest adjustments if necessary
· Maintain accurate paperwork, including checking dissolved oxygen (DO) and recording results
· Clean, sanitize, wash down, and maintain packaging equipment per manufacturer’s specifications
· Move packaged beer to cold box in an organized and safe manner
· Meticulously log product into inventory, ensuring inventory checks are accurate
· Clean and sanitize brite beer tanks (BBT)
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of cellars daily
· Follow all MEBC safety standards
· Alert Packaging Manager of any quality control concerns
· Other duties as directed by Director of Brewing Operations and Packaging Manager
· Plan day so all breaks are taken and work is completed
Qualifications
· 6 months brewery experience, Wild Goose canning line experience preferred
· Strong work ethic and independent thinking
· Absolute passion for brewing and beer
· Ability to work well in a team environment
· Ability to lift and move 175 pound keg repetitively
· Ability to lift 55 pounds repetitively
· Forklift certified
· Flexible schedule
· Strong knowledge of the brewing process, brewing education preferred
· High school diploma or GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
