The role focuses on improving supplier performance and driving sourcing savings in the Americas. Key activities include supplier evaluation, sample development, and leading quality and delivery improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and select high-quality suppliers based on criteria such as quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
- Perform audits of suppliers' quality systems, processes, and products.
- Review technical drawings and specifications, addressing any queries.
- Conduct technical audits and capacity analyses to ensure appropriate work placement.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and cross-functional teams, facilitating sample approvals and driving PPAP.
- Lead supplier corrective actions based on non-conformance reports.
- Prepare and review supplier report cards, implementing action plans for poor performance.
- Implement and maintain the Supplier Quality Manual.
- Develop standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation of parts at suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Quality, SCM, Engineering) to release approved suppliers.
- Train suppliers in QMS compliance, Six Sigma methods, and continuous improvement tools.
- Drive supplier improvement projects and continuously enhance supplier performance.
- Track key metrics such as First Article Approvals, Supplier Quality (DPPM), and On-Time Delivery (SOTD).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or Metallurgy.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, development, or strategic sourcing.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards (ISO 9001, TS16949, AS 9100).
- Ability to travel 30% of the time.
