Job Description Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk at Okuma America is responsible for ensuring that all due
shipments are picked, packed, and shipped properly, as well as ensuring we receive the correct
packages and stock them appropriately.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Shipping:
- Picking Service Parts
- Printing pick tickets from D365
- Picking the items from the racks whether it by cart, order picker, or fork lift (must be able to lift
60 lbs)
- Pack picked items for safe shipping
- Attach the packing list by processing the shipping information in D365
- Process packed items through the shipping system (Agile)
- Place completed packages in its specified location
- When not processing shipments, standard warehouse duties apply which can include receiving,
housekeeping, training, etc.
Receiving:
- Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Contacts distributor to inquire about shipment delays or problems
- Reports any major or unresolved shipment delays or problems to department manager
- Addresses and answers customer inquiries about pending orders and shipments
- Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices
- Performs other duties as assigned and explores opportunities to add value
Experience/Training/Education
High School or Equivalent
Basic training in warehousing
Forklift License
Experience would be helpful in RF scanners and forklift.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
General:
Crane operation experience
Must effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Basic computer skills
Basic use of PC tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel

Physical and Environmental Elements
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit continuously for approximately 1/4 of normal work shift, and stand, walk, and reach
with hands and arms for at least 3/4 of the normal work shift
Ability to lift and carry, push, or pull up to 60 pounds
Ability to stoop, crouch and reach
Ability to talk or hear continuously
Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less)
Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift including operating a
phone, computer/ electronic equipment, tools, wire strippers, crimp tools, soldering iron, a pallet
jack, and a forklift.
Work Environment:
The majority of the position’s functions are performed in the Okuma warehouse/ showroom.
The employee works in an open warehouse area where temperatures may be subject to
outdoor conditions in terms of cold and heat. There is exposure to various tools and equipment
as well as forklift operations and corresponding noise levels
A small portion of the position’s functions may be performed in the office environment with
standard equipment and moderate noise levels (examples: computers, printers, fax, copiers,
light traffic, and phone)
