SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, perform data entry including inventory, accounting, personnel, mileage, budget, demographics, or Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data; attendance; or grades into computer databases. Answer phones and assist district staff with password resets, common computer systems diagnostics, and step-by-step problem-solving processes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Records and Reports
- Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents using a personal computer.
- Key and verify results according to procedures provided.
- Recognize and correct errors in original data prior to processing.
- Recognize deficiencies in source documents and return them to the originator for correction.
- Print reports using database information including attendance reports, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, or accounting reports.

- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in meetings and special events as assigned.
- Exercise professional judgment in absences; be punctual to work, meetings, and appointments.
- Respond to tech inquiries via email, over the phone, or in person
- Help with troubleshooting hardware and software
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED
Two years of data entry experience
Experience working as an IT help desk clerk or in a similar customer support role
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in a written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Patient, friendly demeanor with a great aptitude for listening.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient typing, keyboarding, file maintenance, and 10-key skills. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the general public. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Repetitive hand motion and prolonged use of computer is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
This position requires meeting multiple demands from several people at the same time. The employee regularly interacts with staff and the general public.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work is regularly performed indoors.
