Director of Nursing
We are searching for a motivated
Director of Nursing in a long term care facility in Columbia, Missouri.
Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the organization, development,
management, and administration of day to day nursing activities, including supervision of RN, LPN, and patient care technicians. They also assist in cost containment for supplies and staffing; ensuring staff receives adequate training/education to provide competent care to the patients. The DON will help to implement rules and expectations for the staff; enforce policies and procedures; provide education regarding staffing by acuity; set an example for providing excellent customer service and have the same expectations from the staff. The Director of Nursing works closely with the other departments to ensure great patient care is provided. Creates the staff schedule in a manner that provides adequate staffing and assists in recruitment and retention efforts. The DON will staff when necessary to provide adequate staffing for the patients. Collaborates with hospital leadership to implement best practices across nursing unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration or equivalent o If no Bachelor’s, must have Associate Degree in Nursing, and agree to actively pursue Bachelor’s with a plan to obtain degree within 2 years of starting role
Required/ Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in a ICU/Critical Care environment
- Minimum of 1 year management / supervisory experience (preferred)
Required Licensure/ Certifications:
- Registered Nurse in state performing work
- BLS, ACLS
Salary Base: $95K-$105K, Relocation is possible for the right candidate.
