Family Practice MD / DO Needed for FQHC Community Clinic
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide primary care treatment in accordance to standard medical practice protocols
Record medical history and provide physical examinations and follow-up care
Provide individual patient instruction in accordance to prescribe treatment plan
Prescribe appropriate medication to patients as needed according to medical protocols and standard medical practice
Identify physical, nutritional and/or lifestyle problems and refer to appropriate on-site and off- site resources
Identify psychological and emotional problems/issues and refer to on-site or off-site resources
Consult with Medical Director or specialty physicians for patient evaluations as needed
In conjunction with Medical Director, update Medical Protocols on an annual basis
Adhere to Quality Improvement guidelines and participate in Quality Improvement programs for chronic diseases
Supervise mid-level practitioners as assigned
Work closely with Nutritionists/Health Educators in order to provide appropriate education to the patients
Participate in Provider meetings and QI Meetings as required
Serve as a preceptor instructor to Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or medical students assigned
Attend conferences and seminars when requested and comply with continuing education requirements
Provide trainings to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other clinic staff, on periodic basis
REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program
Current license in the State of California as a Family Medicine physician
Board Eligible / Board Certified
Current CPR
Minimum of one year of clinic experience preferred
Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community
Bi-lingual English / Spanish / Armenian (preferred but not required)
Ability to be flexible
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of medical practice related to outpatient health and occupational health, group health as required.
Knowledge of medical policies, regulations and procedures.
Skill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly, objectively and effectively in emergency situations.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $90.00 - $180.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
