As a Bridge Engineer, you will support the engineering design of structures. You will provide top-of-the-industry engineering services that are verified through a rigorous QC process. As an Engineer-In-Training specializing in Bridges, you will assist in the design, evaluation, and analysis of highway bridges.
- Design or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects
- Prepare structure type selection studies
- Work in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, and state DOTs
- Perform bridge designs and load ratings using spreadsheets, finite element software and/or other bridge software
- Design or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects
- Experience and desire to work with our team to pursue and win projects for the firm
- Assist the local team to establish and maintain client relationships; ability to coordinate and communicate with clients to ensure project design objectives are met and achieve client satisfaction
- Assist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation related structural engineering
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s with a structures emphasis a plus)
- Passed P.E. exam (Registered P.E. a plus)
- 2-7 years of experience
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microstation
- Have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
- Experience working in bridge design team
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely
- Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion
- Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
