Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to deepening the understanding of and strengthening the relationship between the U.S. and Japan for the benefit of a free and open international community. Its activities mainly focus on security and diplomacy, through exchanges, dialogue, analysis, publications, and networking. Each area of programming consists of various activities, with focus placed on high-level, thought-provoking engagement.
We are looking for a full-time member to join our Admin Team and provide strong back-end support for the organization’s mission. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Administration Team in various office maintenance tasks as needed, such as assisting in troubleshooting of office equipment, as well as upkeeping of the office and office supplies.
- Supporting on/off boarding of members of the organization.
- Handling general inquiries from outside the office and forwarding them as needed.
- Supporting the Administration Team to maintain accurate spending and payment records.
Working hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Occasional weeknight and/or weekend work is required (paid overtime).
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
- Demonstrated professional experience preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in professional settings.
- Appreciation of/interest in Japan and its culture as well as our mission.
- Bachelor's degree in a related academic field is preferred.
- Some level of Japanese language proficiency is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with IT tools, such as Zoom, Office 365, and SharePoint preferred.
- Attention to details.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work on a team following instructions.
Compensation and Benefits:
