IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS
- Interpret models, blueprints, sketches or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assemblies.
- Inspect dies and components using standard tool room measuring tools (Height gage, micrometers, calipers, etc.) before, during and after component machining. • Set-up, and operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Operate manual mill, surface grinder and other manual tool room equipment.
- Perform hand operations needed to produce tools and molds using hand tools of the trade.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning and startup of existing and new tool room equipment. Perform basic tool room equipment troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Machines parts by measuring, marking, and scribing stock; setting up and operating lathe, mill, radial drill, shaper, grinder, etc.
- Assembles die by shaping, smoothing, and fitting parts with grinders, files, stones, etc.
- Confirms assembly by verifying dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components with micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, dial indicators, etc. Confirms parts by comparing measurements to specifications.
