Seeking ABA Therapist/Behavior Technician/RBT/ Tutor of learners with disabilities/ Paraprofessional

Behaviors of NYC provides 1 to 1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services throughout New York City, in the home, community, and school settings. We offer: assessments, skill acquisition training, social skills training, behavior management, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), implementing behavior plans, community training, pre-vocational training, parent training and ongoing staff training and supervision.
Our mission is to work with each child and his or her family members to create the best possible outcome for everyone.We are looking for caring, passionate, and dedicated professional ABA therapists to provide 1 to 1 ABA services for children of all ages with Autism, under the guidance of a BCBA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in the home setting from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for a 19-year-old non-verbal learner with autism.
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA to address aggression and self-injurious behavior effectively at home.
- Collaborate closely with the learner's family/caregiver to understand and address the learner's needs and preferences in the home environment.
- Implement positive behavior supports to promote positive behaviors and social skills within the home setting.
- Maintain open and regular communication with family/caregiver to ensure consistency in behavior management strategies and interventions.
- Attend supervision meetings with the BCBA to review progress and discuss any adjustments needed to the behavior plans.
- Demonstrate resilience and comfort in managing severe problem behaviors, adapting behavior plans as necessary to ensure the learner's safety and progress.
- Attend professional development trainings as required to enhance skills in behavior analysis and autism intervention.
Qualifications:
- Energetic, passionate, goal-oriented professional committed to making a positive impact.
- Experience with managing aggressive or self-injurious behavior in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Arrive on time and prepared for therapy sessions with a proactive approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, current enrollment in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Six months or more of experience in ABA therapy or working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
This role requires a dedicated professional who is skilled in implementing behavior plans and positive behavior supports, effective in collaborating with families, and committed to supporting the behavioral and developmental needs of individuals with autism in their home environment during the specified hours.
*A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance with a good driving record is preferred*

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
