Job Description
The Research Assistant will support the design and administration of multiple projects. Activities include coordinating information systems data, reviewing contacts, and updating/cross-checking current data with numerous other databases and list content; providing support to multiple teams across the project in an overall effort to modernize and update web and publication content; and providing quality control and quality assurance for public-facing and client-oriented products, communications, and content. We seek an individual who understands and is committed to equity and social justice. This position will work closely with the senior management team, Operations, and Special Projects staff and be able to provide diverse and adaptive support dependent upon project needs.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support project activities in data analysis and reporting for internal and external databases and information systems.
· Conduct internet and library research and write summaries of findings.
· Support and co-lead virtual events, including demos, webinars, and meetings for the project and/or the client.
· Build, organize, prepare, and maintain data sets for analysis.
· Perform moderate data analysis and quality checks on datasets, statistical tables, reports and other written materials.
· Interpret, synthesize, and summarize information, including qualitative and quantitative data.
· Write sections and prepare tables, figures, or other supplementary material to contribute to deliverables, monthly and quarterly reports, analytic reports, and research applications.
· Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings and data collection activities, drafting and publishing agendas, and electronic tracking and file management.
· Prepare materials for and summaries of meetings, conferences, and site visits.
· Utilize tools, reports, and control systems to document, manage, and monitor processes and various data collection activities.
· Communicate clearly in writing and orally with internal and external contacts.
· Contribute to proposals and business development as needed.
· Participate in special projects and complete other assigned tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Familiarity with and some experience with data analysis, interpretation, and communication.
· Some knowledge of, or strong interest in, education research, programs, and policy issues.
· Some knowledge of child welfare research, programs, and policy issues, as well as a strong understanding of and commitment to equity and social justice and/or lived experience relevant to the project.
· Careful attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills, including writing clearly for various audiences while following standard grammar, punctuation, and usage rules.
· Basic analysis and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work on complex, multifaceted projects under deadlines, both on a team and independently
· Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications, including Teams
· Working knowledge of library and knowledge sharing, cloud-based systems, including Ex Libris (Alma, Primo VE)

EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, social work, sociology, psychology, public policy, statistics, economics, or another social science with an excellent academic record.
