Position Title: Mortgage QC & Compliance Support Analyst
Business Unit: Mortgage Administration
Reports to: Manager of Mortgage Loan Quality Control
Position Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting Origination & Servicing QC leadership and analysts in meeting regulatory and investor quality control requirements and mitigating risks related to residential mortgage lending and servicing. The incumbent analyzes comprehensive origination and servicing quality data to ensure collateral integrity, documentation accuracy, credit quality and regulatory adherence. The incumbent analyzes quality and compliance trending to determine root causes, identify process improvement opportunities and administer corrective action plans.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyzes quality control and compliance review results for loans in-process and post-closing for credit, compliance, documentation deficiencies and investor stability. Understands and comprehends Loan Origination & Servicing policies, processes, and technologies to effectively identify enhancements needed to improve loan quality and compliance. Leads new hire on the job training.
Identifies areas that require targeted reviews and then provides recommendations to leadership, facilitates progress calls, and disseminates decks & other correspondence on progress. Performs targeted quality and compliance data analysis on more complex risk layering such as low FICO, high LTV, high DTI, and self-employed borrowers.
Attends regular meetings with quality control teams, operational peers, and management to review quality trending, arriving at mutually agreed upon recommendations that will result in best practices within the production area.
Works with QC & Compliance SMES (Subject Matter Experts) to update/create business requirements, process documentation and data mapping needs. Responsibilities may include database management, report generation, and analysis. Provides support and training direction to mortgage production leadership on issues regarding the corporation's lending policies and procedures.
Acts as a QC & Compliance SME (Subject Matter Expert) during process change execution, monitors action plan remediation progress, and ensures required training is completed. Assists in mapping all investor requirements (including but not limited to HUD, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, FHLB, and USDA) to current QC testing procedures and testing questionnaire sets.
Partners with leadership on regulatory compliance issues providing recommendations of how regulation affects mortgage origination and servicing. Solicits input from both external and internal subject matter experts to aid in producing recommendations and go-forward approach.
