Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Description of Benefits: This is a full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year. Compensation includes medical and vision benefits, voluntary dental, and FSA plans, 403b contributions and generous paid time off (including statutory holidays and school breaks).

As Director of Operations, we anticipate that you will partner with the head of school to lead five areas of the institution: finance, facilities, human resources, technology, and security. In each area, you will identify key performance metrics in alignment with the school’s strategic plan. You will lead the measurement of performance in those areas and reporting progress regularly to the head of school and the board. Your work will make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.
Facilities and Operations
- You will ensure that we steward our resources including our physical plant, monitoring policies and procedures.
- You will promote safety, security, and effective emergency planning.
- You will maintain accreditation and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- You will manage a team consisting of the operations manager, front desk person, and outsourced maintenance, janitorial, and security contractors.
- You will also be responsible for managing, organizing and ordering, on an ongoing basis, our school/building supplies.
Human Resources
- You will continue to build the positive relationships that make NYHS a happy place where people love to come to work and to school, including managing staff appreciation events,
- You will assist the Head of School in sourcing candidates for open positions.
Technology
- Together with outside vendors, you will be responsible for managing NYHS’s core IT systems, including Schoology, phone system and PC equipment, security, and related software.
Events and Athletics
- You will manage logistics relating to field trips, and events.
- You will also manage our ahtletics program in conjunction with our athletics director, with an emphasis on logistics and transportation relating to the athletics program.
We believe:
- Maybe you have a degree in business, finance, or a related field. Maybe you started in another field and grew into a leadership role. We are open-minded with regard to education, even though we’re sure you should be knowledgeable about accounting and finance.
- You've got experience building systems and processes that keep things running smoothly in a school, non-profit, or corporation.
- You've led teams successfully in the past and want to do it again.
- You've reported to a board of trustees or board of directors before and understand how to build a trusting relationship built on visibility and data.
