Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) weekends position
Job Summary:
Responsible for providing nursing services to terminally ill patients in their home setting and supportive services to family members in compliance with all applicable federal, state & local health and safety codes including LSC(R), laws and regulations, and all applicable policies and procedures of Hospice of East Texas. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. This position could potentially be an every-other-weekend position for the right candidate.
Job Qualifications:
- Current Texas RN license
- Documentation of at least two years or equivalent of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Current CPR Certification as required by policy
- Hospice experience preferred
- Valid Drivers License
- Proof of Current Automobile Liability Insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software relevant to position; ability to master software applications relevant to position (including but not limited to the electronic medical record)
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Demonstrate ability to relate effectively with physicians, health care professionals, the community, patients/families, and members of the hospice interdisciplinary team
- Employee must be FIT tested for an N95 mask
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to drive, stand, site, walk, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, twist, and crouch.
- Regularly required to use hands to handle and feel; and to speak and hear.
- Intermittently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to deal effectively with stress
- Occasionally required to do standing/sitting presentations involving speaking and listening to an audience.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to focus and ability to drive during varied weather conditions and day/night lighting.
- Required ability to travel by automobile.

· Patient home settings, nursing facility settings, general office settings, inpatient care facility, health care offices/hospitals
· Must be able to work within varied home environments (including but not limited to those with animals, dust, and tobacco smoke)

Interactions with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, visitors, co-workers, etc. must be in a manner that is courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional.
