TSINY is seeking a Director of Peer Services for its Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program located in Jamaica (Queens), NY.
Annual Salary $70,000
Position Summary
The Director of Peer Services is responsible for ensuring that all assigned programs operate within the stated TSINY policies & procedures and remain in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. This individual oversees the day-to-day activities of the TSINY Empowerment Center and the TSINY Education, Training, and Resource Center (ETRC), providing supervision to staff and ensuring that services are appropriate to advancing the recovery goals of our clients. The Director of Peer Services also plays a central role in advancing peer services within the agency and contributing to the training and professional development of peer providers within TSINY.
Essential Functions
- Provide direction, training, guidance and support to staff and individuals in the programs.
- Provide regular and ongoing supervision to staff.
- Maintain Service Plans and Consumer Charts
- Prepare for annual OMH audit
- Provide regular and ongoing supervision to staff.
- Monitor regulatory guidance to ensure programs compliance.
- Implement services and evidence-based practices designed to engage individuals in recovery.
- Oversee the implementation of peer services and provide on-going support in developing the role of peer services throughout the agency.
- Develop services and activities to encourage and assist recipients in obtaining peer certification.
- Attend and participate in the Empowerment Center and PROS Recipient Council meetings.
- Serve as the agency point person and liaison with NYARPRS and other coalitions involved with the professional development of peer services.
- Formulate and implement programming to assist students in obtaining educational goals (literacy, TASC, college, and alternative training).
- Manage Agency financial resources according to stated policy and procedures.
- Evaluate program performance, develop program reports and complete program evaluations.
- Evaluate employee performance and address poor work performance in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling or a related field. NYS Peer Certification preferred. The Director will also have at least three to five years’ clinical/rehabilitation and supervisory experience.
