Job Title: Director of Operations

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality functions. This role involves developing and implementing a manufacturing plan that supports sales forecasts and strategic goals, ensuring the organization achieves growth while maintaining profitability and return on investment objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs/action plans to achieve growth while maintaining return on sales, profitability, and return on investment objectives.
- Develop and maintain a sound organization plan, delegating responsibilities and authorities as required.
- Monitor current industry trends and new manufacturing management concepts, recommending appropriate implementations to achieve “Best in Class” status.
- Create systems and controls to direct manufacturing operations, ensuring clear communication of conditions, activities, and trends.
- Lead the evaluation of manufacturing processes and establish best practices company-wide, including automation processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with senior management to plan business objectives, coordinate functions between divisions and departments, and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Establish criteria to measure operations and regularly appraise results against approved standards.
- Ensure a focus on safety throughout the organization.
- Review activity reports and financial statements to assess progress and revise objectives and plans as needed.
- Review existing operations and activities, making necessary changes to ensure an effective, innovative organization that promotes professional and management training, development, and succession.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to establish market strategies and participate in customer development.
- Set, communicate, and attain non-financial metrics including safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and other objectives consistent with the company’s long-term goals.
- Interact with suppliers to stay abreast of new developments in materials and equipment.
- Represent the company in dealings with outside parties and industry organizations in association with the Managing Director.
- Ensure all manufacturing operations comply with industry standards and government regulations.
- Support and partner with the Technical Team for the implementation of automation and IoT.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in increasingly responsible positions in manufacturing management within the upstream, midstream, or downstream sectors.
- Strong operations management experience with a proven track record of implementing and managing "Smart Manufacturing."
- Knowledge of programs such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, The Shingo Prize, and others used to achieve operational excellence.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering technical solutions that provide market differentiation and exceptional value-added solutions.
- Solid understanding of new technology, especially Smart Manufacturing methods, digital solutions, and IoT applied to elastomer and plastic industrial processing.
- Proven collaboration and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
- Ability to effectively influence and work with people at all levels of the organization, with the courage to constructively challenge senior management.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems and an understanding of the financial information required to properly measure business effectiveness.
