Required Experience: No experience necessary, willing to train the right candidate. However we strongly prefer prior experience with some form of printing equipment or production machinery. Graphic design experience is not required but is a huge plus.
Job Description: Under the general direction and oversight of the offsite manager, the Print Production Operator performs the following tasks: printing, quality control checking, and processing of marketing mail pieces (postcards, saddle stitched booklets, letters, fliers) If able, thePrint Production Operator will have the option to pick up extra hours helping with the graphic design of these mail pieces using the Adobe suite of products.
Job Duties:
Postcard & Booklet Production
1) Edit and export PDF file from a ready made design within "Adobe In Design" software.
2) Impose mailing addresses on PDF files using an "excel" spreadsheet and "Fiery" software.
3) Set-up the digital press "Ricoh Pro C 5210s" in order to print.
4) Trim postcards and booklets to remove bleed using"4908M paper cutter press".
5) Tab booklets using tabber "Rena L-350"
6) Sort mail into appropriate trays
Letter Production
1) Edit word file and mail merge names with excel spreadsheet.
2) Export PDF file from Microsoft word.
3) Print envelopes & letters via printer and (or) handwriting robot.
4) Use a stamp affixer to add stamps to the envelope.
5) Using folder inserter to insert letter into envelope.
Graphic Design
1) Experience using the Adobe Suite of products for graphic design is a huge bonus, but is not a requirement of the job. However for the right candidate there are additional hours available designing mail pieces.
Description:
As Print Marketing Operator the individual applies knowledge of Digital Printing Equipment such as: a digital press, a hand writing robot, a trimming press, a stamp affixer, a tabbing machine, and a folder inserter. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of, or the ability to learn the following software systems: Windows, the Adobe Suite of products, Microsoft Excel, Fiery Controller for a Digital Press, USPS tool.
Once trained the Print Marketing Operator will work alone and independently, but under the virtual supervision of the manager.
The Print Marketing Operator will assume responsibility for set up and operation of the print shop equipment. Utilizing software the Print Marketing Operator will control the flow of production output to the printer and prioritize workflow in the effort to meet production goals. The operator will perform quality assurance verification, sort, and pack printed mail pieces for distribution.
Miscellaneous
Sets a positive tone through work engagement and team spirit. Shares ideas and offers process improvement opportunities. Documents mail production hours for each mailer. Escalates concerns to management as needed. Provides responses to scheduling inquiries. Stages and monitors consumable related inventory. Submits requests for ordering consumables to the manager. Performs other related duties, administrative functions, assignments or special projects as directed by the management.
Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent. Aptitude to quickly learn how to operate printing and automated equipment. Basic PC skills are essential. Good communication, organizational skills with the ability to work within deadlines with accuracy and efficiency. Work well independently following written directions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and be able to reach, bend and turn repetitively.
