Senior Systems/Network Operations Engineer
Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Direct Hire – Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, respond to, and report on IT infrastructure incidents.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Applications teams, and others to design and implement enterprise monitoring solutions.
- Provide initial alert response and support for a wide range of systems, including LAN-WAN, security, storage, servers, applications, and services across multiple locations.
- Actively detect, monitor, and report on trends, including incidents, capacity, and performance issues.
- Use technical expertise, collaboration, and leadership skills to achieve Firm, IT, and Operations Support objectives.
- Contribute to the development and use of technologies for enterprise monitoring of Firm services and platforms.
- Assess, design, and implement IT systems monitoring and management processes based on ITIL frameworks and specific Firm requirements.
- Work with all levels of Problem Management, Incident Management, and IT resources to prevent or resolve major technology issues.
- Execute and assist in the development of daily administration and operational services for the Firm's IT infrastructure and processes.
- Ensure that Operations Support workflows, both Tier 1 and Tier 2, meet service level, call handling, and performance objectives during shifts.
- Provide expert guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Operations Support staff on customer, knowledge, and workflow issues.
- Address and resolve problem calls or technical issues as needed.
- Communicate and enforce Firm, IT, and Operations Support policies and procedures.
- Identify and initiate continuous improvement opportunities with the Systems Operations Manager.
- Understand the specific needs of IT customers and stay informed about the overall Firm business strategy.
- Assist with training new hires and providing ongoing training for existing staff.
- Meet personal and team commitments and assigned deliverables.
- Stay updated on new developments in industry and processes.
- Organize and prepare work effectively to proactively resolve problems.
- Communicate and collaborate with other Firm departments and/or vendors as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and five years of Network Operations Center or network management experience.
- Three years of experience using an enterprise network monitoring system in a multi-site environment.
- Knowledge of current Incident, Release, and Change Management methods and tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Online, Azure AD, and related infrastructure technologies.
- Broad knowledge of Cisco Internetworking (Switches, Hubs, Routers) equipment and operating environments.
- Ability to administer, monitor, and manage Enterprise Monitoring Systems, such as Microsoft SCOM and SolarWinds Orion.
- Knowledge of monitoring storage infrastructure technologies, with preference for NetApp storage products.
- Proficiency in using Service Management applications (ticketing and escalation).
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and NetApp Cloud Storage.
Additional Items:
- Weekend coverage and support required in addition to regular coverage
The salary range for this position is $100K to $150K (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
