POSITION SUMMARY:
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing the full scope of the execution of garden development projects for each client. The Construction Manager has the ability to plan and effectively manage the crew and production tasks while familiarizing himself with the tastes of our specific clients. The Construction Manager will be responsible for all Lambert’s employees’ adherence to standard safety regulations and obtaining the necessary documentation for each project (permits, inspections, etc.). This position will also be responsible for knowing and meeting budgets for each project, and coordinating with the necessary personnel for each specific job. The Construction Manager will also work hand-in-hand with the sales team to retain and boost sales with clients. The Construction Manager will also be expected to stay up to date with current landscaping trends while continuing the education and training of both themselves and the employees in each crew.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and be thoroughly familiar with plans and specifications for each project.
- Communicate and correspond regularly with clients and designers on all aspects of field operations.
- Keep clients apprised of the schedule from day to day, informing when we will or will not be on site.
- Coordinate flow of the project, knowing what areas are being worked and which are next in sequence.
- Effectively plan and manage all necessary manpower, subcontractors and equipment for the job.
- Coordinate all inspections required for projects such as special event permits, large trees, road closures, drainage and irrigation permits, electrical and plumbing, layout review, interim inspections, substantial completion inspection, and final inspection.
- Know local codes, delivery routes, garbage collection and emergency response procedures in any area we work.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Provide needed delivery dates for all plant material with the Purchasing Manager.
- Maintain a written, accessible schedule for each job on MS Project.
- Provide all quantities and percentages required for weekly billings (BIP) by the scheduled date and time.
- Coordinate and review orders from foremen for all materials, ensuring that foreman complete stock transfers for inventory material.
- Coordinate with Garden Development manager on creation of all purchase orders.
- Manage and be responsible for the labor and materials budget on each project.
- Review and evaluate job performance sheets weekly on assigned accounts to ensure profitability.
- Participate in weekly Garden Development Group planning meetings.
- Secure tools, equipment and supplies required for day to day operations.
- Interface with Garden Managers to ensure smooth transition to Lambert’s Garden Services Group.
Experience:
Must have at least 10 yrs. Experience in construction, landscape construction, or design build industry.
Training and Certifications:
BS degree in construction management, landscape contracting, landscape architecture, or directly related field of study. Also must possess a valid driver’s license. A Substitute for degree would be 15+ years of experience in the above listed fields.

Must have experience in estimating, preparing and presenting proposals to existing and potential clients in a timely and professional manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ability to handle a large number of key priorities at once
Possess a working knowledge of green industry and related disciplines.
Must be familiar with regional plant materials, planting techniques, and landscape installation skills and procedures.

Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
