Billing Specialist I
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support all Retina Associates personnel in answering questions pertaining to billing and any other billing related concerns.
- Enter accurate charge entry of submitted clinic and surgery superbills within 24 hours of receipt.
- Provide education pertaining to billing to clinical staff and physicians when appropriate.
- Produces written procedures for Billing Office purposes.
- Works with Medical Billing Manager and/or other staff to develop new processes.
- Willing and able to participate in training and in developing training resources.
- Inform managers of missing charges via Recon list once each clinic is billed.
- Utilize knowledge to research CPT and ICD-10 coding as necessary.
- Knowledge and practice of HIPAA guidelines in healthcare.
- Cooperate and communicate with all staff members, management, and physicians.
- Attend required staff meetings.
- Assist with other responsibilities as required.

Education Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Obtain OCSR within 6 months of employment.
- CPC Certification preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements:
- One to three years of experience working in medical collections, billing, and coding preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable reporting standards and benchmarking.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
