Job Description
Rapidly expanding urgent care facility located in the Fairless Hills, Langhorne area is looking for Medical Assistants with a contagious and positive work ethic. The Medical Assistants will work closely with physicians and be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to patient care. This position will require you to be an active member in a patient centered-team approach. The Medical Assistant will also be required to work collaboratively with all team members in achieving shared goals with a consistent focus on quality care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Smiles, making patients/visitors feel welcome and important; makes direct eye contact; assists patients with sign in process; responds promptly to patients’ needs, monitors flow in waiting areas and exam rooms, and makes patients and team members aware of delays.
- Performs medical assistant duties in a safe and efficient manner. Consistently, accurately and independently prioritizes and completes clinical assignments within office guidelines. Prepares patient for examination and treatment; takes brief patient history that includes chief complaint, vital signs, and weight; assists physician with procedures; draws blood and obtains urine specimens; administers injections as approved for CMAs; provides patient instructions per physician’s order; conducts authorized in-office tests.
- Completes all authorized patient chart documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for the preparation of the examination rooms.
- Accurately and promptly sets up examination rooms, materials and equipment.
- Proactively monitors required stock level per practice procedure and anticipates unique supply needs for patients/provider.
- Rooms are cleaned and sanitized per protocol
- Monitors general clinical supply inventory and equipment
REQUIREMENTS: * Medical Assistant Certification or similar certification is required.
- Outpatient or hospital-based experience is required.
- One-year medical office/ambulatory care experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a medical assistant program or other relevant training program (i.e. EMT, phlebotomy) required.
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and medications.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team centered approach to patient care.
- Basic computer skills required.
