Job Description
EDUCATION
Learning Facilitators (LF) of core content areas (i.e., English language arts, math, science, and social studies) will be in progress of obtaining the respective single-subject credentials approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and meet all requirements of the law for public school teachers as defined in California Education Code section 47605(l). Additionally, all Learning Facilitators will be working toward being qualified as defined by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Matrix for Success Academy will adhere to all requirements outlined by the CA Commission on Teaching Credentialing and ESSA with respect to teachers and paraprofessionals (LF and ALF).
LEARNING FACILITATORS DUTIES
Non-negotiable, evaluative duties and responsibilities. LF will perform the following duties:
- Instructional planning following the Diploma Plus Curriculum Development and DPNG.
- Reviewing and evaluating the work of pupils using the Diploma Plus Rubrics.
- Create ongoing and weekly engagement opportunities for Success Seminar students, collaborate with staff to ensure engagement opportunities are effective
- Maintain a system for grading and providing feedback to students on all coursework, within 48 hours of work submission
- Manage a Success Seminar Roster/Caseload, completing (WAR) Work and Attendance Records, providing outreach, C3 Social-Emotional support and check-ins, and individualized support as needed
- Offer Weekly Office Hours for remote students to request appointments for content specific support.
- Maintaining appropriate records using DPNG or other approved assessment/grading tools.
- Integrating Pauline Gibbons’ Seven Intellectual Practices and Diploma Plus Language Acquisition. Competencies into all instructional planning to differentiate and address the needs of English Learners.
- Implement C3 Collective Care Continuum curriculum and practices within all your rosters as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Special Education team to ensure compliance and support of all students.
- Develop and provide course work appropriate to meet the needs of students participating in Matrix for Success Academy’s Independent Study program as requested by coordinator and Administration.
- Attend parent and student events and workshops during the school year on a topic relevant to the needs of our students.
- Work “signing-in and out” through the web-based Paycom application.
DUTIES OF A LEARNING FACILITATOR
- Each LF teaching in the classroom for which they shall be working is responsible for the following duties:
Generally accepted professional evaluative duties:
- Setting-up and breaking down the classroom/instructional space at the start and finish of the school year.
- Providing and distributing course materials and texts.
- Establishing and communicating clear academic and behavioral expectations to all students.
- Delivering and reviewing material to ensure student mastery of content and related skills.
- Regularly assessing student work to ensure student mastery of content and related skills.
- Maintaining a weekly communication Tracker of contact with students and parents, via phone calls home and parent/student conferencing, regarding students’ academic progress and related behavior.
- Maintaining appropriate classroom management to ensure all students have access to a sound educational experience.
- Differentiating instructional methods to provide access to course content for English Learners, students with IEPs/504 Plans and with multiple learning modalities.
- Facilitating student preparation for and participation in individual, department level, school-wide, state and other mandated testing for students inclusive of Smarter Balanced, STAR, NWEA, ELPAC, PSAT,\SAT/ACT, etc.
- Preparing curriculum and lesson plans in a format appropriate to the assignments required.
- Providing leadership and supervision of student activities and organizations.
- Preparing and selecting instructional materials.
- Communicating and conferring with pupils, parents, staff and administrators.
- Actively participating in parent, community and open house activities.
- Assuming reasonable responsibility for the proper use and control of school property, equipment, material and supplies.
- Attending faculty, departmental, grade level and other meetings called or approved by the immediate administrator.
- Participating in staff development programs, professional activities related to their assignment, independent study and otherwise keeping current with developments within their areas or subjects of assignment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,822.00 - $75,903.00 per year
