Job Summary
The Quality Technician will check the quality of products and company processes. A quality technician inspects products and processes to ensure that they meet defined standards for durability, function, customer satisfaction, or any other metric considered a measure of quality. The quality tech will also complete inspection reports, testing manufacturing equipment, helping develop new methods for testing, or inspecting products to ensure they meet quality standards, and analyzing test data. They also work to improve quality control procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, implementation, and support of quality documentation systems.
- Utilize and train others on documentation systems and processes.
- Inspecting incoming, work in process, finished goods to quality and safety standards.
- Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
- Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Coordinate site quality storage of records.
- Assist with new hire orientation, training, etc.
- Maintain paper/computer records.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical School or Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with quality control and/or production.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
