Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Advocate to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will advocate for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support throughout their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patients receive appropriate care
- Assist patients in understanding their medical conditions and treatment options
- Advocate for patients' rights and preferences within the healthcare system
- Coordinate communication between patients, families, and medical staff
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during challenging times
- Conduct utilization reviews to optimize patient care and resources
- Work with various departments to streamline patient care processes
Skills:
- Experience in Utilization Review or similar role
- Knowledge of Managed Care, Acute Care, Hospital Medicine, Medicare/Medicaid, HEDIS knowledge and LTC.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Empathy and compassion towards patients and their families
