Job Summary: Intermediate level engineering position to design and develop security sensors with minimal supervision throughout the development process. Working with multiple personnel and departments developing algorithms, testing routines, overseeing PCB design details, etc.

Job Duties*: Minimum job duties include the following.
- Design and develop embedded microprocessors and digital circuitry for perimeter security sensors.
- Generate electrical schematics and production drawings verified to meet functional requirements.
- Support senior level/project lead Engineers with prototyping and the testing of designs.
- Guide production of drawings, test procedures, manuals & supporting documentation.
- Research, develop, and evaluate design concepts including materials, specifications, etc.
- Evaluate new and existing circuits for appropriate functionality and the ability to pass electrical qualifications tests.
- Utilize simulation software and proof-of-concept prototypes as needed to validate new circuits and subsystems.
- Perform hardware validation, driver development, and support manufacturing programming through test flows.
- Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project.
- Participate in all phases of product design flow – from concept to prototyping and production.
- Develop high-level design requirements and block-level micro-architectures, partition design and create specification documents.
- Generate schematics for PCB manufacturing and export.
- Conduct simulation in SPICE and using relevant software (Altium, CAD) to verify design performance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Skills/Experience: Three years related engineering experience, or two years with advanced engineering degree.
- Should have hands on experience with hardware architecture design, feature & performance specifications, 16/32 bit micro-controllers based designs and high-speed digital circuits.
- Experience and good comprehension of Embedded Hardware Architectures and periphery (SPI, IIC, Memory, Ethernet, POE, A/D, D/A). Prior experience with communication protocols, (RS-232, RS-485), a plus.
- Experience with Schematic Capture & PCB design. (Orcad, EasyEDA, etc.) Multilayer PCB design.
- Familiarity with power supply, analog/digital circuit design techniques, and Worst Case Analysis techniques.
- Some knowledge of Hardware microprocessor design and design techniques.
- Fundamentals of derating requirements.
- PCB construction, circuit design, analysis & trouble shooting, basic coding & test scripts desired.
- Must be self-motivated to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Education: *Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics is required.

Physical demands:* Able to (air) travel as required. Able to perform product testing outdoors, under various site conditions, requiring some walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing a ladder up to 20 feet tall.
