Our non profit school was founded by parents who have a son on the autism spectrum and understand the need for a quality educational program. We opened our doors in 2015 and have made meaningful and socially significant impact in our students lives and continue to do so every day. Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Cleared Live Scan fingerprint clearance as required by California Department of Education
- Cleared Tuberculosis Test, up-to-date as required by California Department of Education
- Training and/or education related to working with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
- Experience working with children preferred
- Comfortable working in school & community environments
- Self-motivated, responsible, honest, articulate, excellent organizational and time management skills
- Maintains professional boundaries, professional composure, and work well under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Work in a school setting & team-oriented environment.
- Implementation of Academic & Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs that focus on decreasing maladaptive behaviors and increasing social, communication and adaptive skills under the direction of the Supervisors (BCBA, Education Specialist, Lead Behavior Therapist).
- Establish and maintain rapport with students to ensure learning is fun and in an effective environment.
- Direct intervention 1:1 or small group within the school & community-based environments.
- Data collection & documentation related to academic and behavioral goals.
- Support & collaborate with the intervention team.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Work independently and problem solve challenging situations.
- Collect, graph and maintain data daily for each program in an organized manner.
- Correctly enter time daily on company approved time keeping system.
- Direct work with students include the following physical demands: sitting, kneeling, squatting, running, twisting, lifting, turning, reaching above shoulders, frequent physical transitions.
- Able to lift 50 pounds
