Job Summary
The Benefits & Compensation Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction on the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive total rewards platform for all Heritage Medical Associates. This position develops, supports, and maintains a current working operational knowledge of the plans, internal company policies and procedures, as well as coordinates collaborates with the benefits broker and other outside third-party vendors. This position acts as an advisor to the organization regarding total rewards and is responsible for: ensuring regulatory compliance; and maintaining all benefits related files. This person is an integral member of the HR team and participates in HR related functions, initiatives, and objectives and collaborates heavily with IT and Payroll.
Responsibilities
· Oversees the administration of benefits plans including: 401(k), medical, wellness, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and medical claims
· Serve as the subject matter expert, providing excellent customer service and communication, on benefits questions for employees and within the HR team
· Ensures that the organization is compliant with all Human Resources practices which include ACA, COBRA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.
· Compiles data for monthly ACA reporting. Ensure data is accurate and submitted timely Conducts, in conjunction with vendor, the annual Flexible Spending Account discrimination testing
· Completes compensation and benefits reports for internal and external stakeholders
· Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life, medical, and disability benefits claims
· Coordinates the annual benefits, open enrollment, and 401K (eligibility and enrollment) process and effectively communicates process and timelines to all employees
· Develops, implements, and updates the HMA Wellness initiative
· Evaluates competitive nature of present programs through research, surveys, and analysis of trends in partnership with CHRO.
· Prepares and implements a benefits (health and welfare and 401k) communication strategy to keep HMA associates current on changes, updates, announcements, deadlines, etc.
· Reconciles benefit vendor invoices and resolves discrepancies and forwards to accounting for payment
· Reviews, processes, and maintains applicable documentation regarding employee requests for leaves of absences, disability programs, and FMLA policy administration; follows up with employee and manager as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Must have a minimum of 5 years of benefits and compensation management experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
· Must be self-motivated and detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
· Must possess excellent interpersonal, diplomacy and customer service skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including report creation
· Ability to approach work with a process orientation and exercise good judgment
· Strong communication (oral and written) and client interface skills
· Understanding of employment law and compliance issues relevant to benefits design/administration
· Ability to explain and educate benefits to staff, providers, and others as needed
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information
· Must be flexible and able to quickly adapt to work in a changing environment
· Solution oriented and pragmatic in decision making and approach.
· Must work well in a team environment with the ability to build effective relationships
· Ability to work with and communicate across multiple levels of the organization
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree is preferred
· Benefits and/or Human Resources certification(s) – preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
