WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday - Thursday
- 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM
JOB PURPOSE: Safely perform manual labor duties operating production equipment such as but not limited to coating, shirring machine, packing, and mixing. Perform quality checks, work in a team environment with other operators, maintain work area clean and organized to ensure quality product is manufactured to meet customer demand. Will require cross training on various aspects of machine operation and product lines. Will require packing various manufactured products line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety polices. Review/use safety equipment and personal protection equipment (PPE)required for each job.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Safely process material through various production machinery.
- Operate machine; understanding the process and safety requirement of the machine, learn to recognize and solve minor malfunctions of the machine.
- Inspect product for defects while manufacturing and packing; remove defective products or materials by placing them in appropriate cartons.
- Process material through coating, shirring machine, packing, mixing and other production machinery.
- Multi-task and work as a team to ensure operating schedules are met.
- Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms.
- Label containers, cartons, of finish product using specified labels.
- Clean containers, materials, supplies, and/or work areas, using approve cleaning solutions and hand tools.
- Store equipment or supplies in proper locations.
- Work well with others and on occasion be assigned a new hire for training.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work overtime as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CRITERIA REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, heat, cold and strong odors.
2. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; 8-10 hours.
3. Must be able to safely lift and/ or move between 25 - 50 pounds.
4. Must be able to safely team lift between 50-75 lbs. with a team member.
5. Frequent use of hands to fingers; must be able to handle, grasp or touch objects or tools.
6. Ability to perform repetitive manual material handling without restriction, requiring (but not limited to) the following physical abilities:
Kneeling, Squatting, Twisting, Crouching, Pushing, Bending, Standing, Pulling, Reaching, Walking, Grasping, Climbing
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to read and write either in English or Spanish.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions and numbering.
- Must be able to calculate basic arithmetic, (i.e., add, subtract, multiply and divide).
- Knowledgeable in the metric system; length, mass, and volume.
- Knowledge in machinery skills: Ability to operate automated machines and equipment with accuracy.
- Computer competency: Must enter data into company’s system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
- High school diploma or equivalent desirable.
- One (1) year of related manufacturing experience
- Attendance: Must be punctual and reliable
