Job description
A Host at The Mexican is responsible for delivering a best-in-class first impression to our guests that will lead to an outstanding and memorable fine dining experience. He or she will work collaboratively with the restaurant team to manage reservations, uphold brand standards and contribute to a genuine culture of hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of a Host at The Mexican Team include, but are not limited to:
· Greet all guests, by name, promptly as they arrive and leave the restaurant with an upbeat, friendly manner
· Provide timely seating of guests by maintaining accurate table turn times, while maximizing seating capacity
· Manage large crowds in a professional manner and resolve challenging service situations diplomatically
· Answer phone calls in a quick and professional manner, effectively listen and reply to guest questions while ensuring reservation details are accurate and thorough
· Demonstrate genuine hospitality by engaging in polite conversation with guests while being attentive to any and all special requests
· Demonstrate a desire to work in in a fast-paced, hospitality driven atmosphere while maintaining a calm composure under high-energy pressure
· Assist restaurant management and service team, as needed, by providing an outstanding dining experience that exceeds guest expectations
· Maintain neat and organized work areas
· Accomplish all opening, running and end of shift side work; including ensuring work areas are stocked and ready for the next shift
Requirements:
· 1-2 years of experience as a HOST in an upscale dining environment
· Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation platform required
· Flexible schedule with weekend, holidays, and evening availability
· Must attend and successfully complete orientation, and Team Member training program prior to working a shift
· Must agree and abide all company policies and procedures as outlined
· Must complete and maintain required training in compliance with local and state regulations, such as food and/or alcohol service certifications.

Job Types: Full Time 30-40 hours / week
Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on prior experience level
