Position Overview
The maintenance Technician is responsible for insuring safe, efficient and reliable equipment functionality, facility safety, continuous improvement and problem solving. This includes developing and conducting Preventative Maintenance tasks, attending to unplanned and planned work requests (breakdowns, changeovers and projects) participating in Problem Solving and Safety groups as requested and training operators in the correct set up/adjustment and operation of plant equipment and systems as needed. This position shall report to the Senior Director of Facilities & Maintenance with a dotted line matrix report to the plant manager.
Job Duties to include but not limited to:
- Complete PM tasks as assigned.
- Review and, if necessary, modify PM task list to insure accurate and thorough PM’s are being completed and schedule frequency is correct.
- Respond to unplanned work requests in a timely, professional manner.
- Safe and efficient mechanical and electrical troubleshooting utilizing LO/TO.
- Safe and efficient changeovers of equipment, mechanical adjustments, recipe parameter changes and confirmation upon startup that changeover has been successful meeting all Product Safety, Efficiency and Quality requirements.
- Sign off all work requested of you into our CMMS on a shift basis. Reschedule or plan work as required within the CMMS.
- Have familiarity and comply with OSHA and WA State Safety Regulations.
- Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in Promise Confections/site handbook; participate in regular training to comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices, Safe Quality Foods initiatives, and HAACP.
- It is the duty and responsibility of ALL staff to report any food safety issues IMMEDIATELY to their supervisor.
Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a production environment.
- Strong commitment to Safety.
- Technical/Trade school certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with proper LO/TO devices, techniques and regulations.
- Minimum of basic electrical skill.
- Strong mechanical skill.
- Ability to read and speak English fluently and communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to communicate issues with plant engineer/maintenance supervisor and production staff
- Ability to perform complex mathematics through basic algebra.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to determine the best course of action needed to resolve maintenance issues in a timely, efficient manner.
- Ability to deal with a multitude of situations that may have complex variables.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
