Summary
Interview and evaluate donors to determine eligibility for apheresis platelet and RBC donations. Prepares donor for and performs phlebotomy to include post collection assessment prior to patient release. Schedules donors by telephone to give apheresis platelets or RBCs.Minimum of one (1) year phlebotomy experience required. Apheresis experience preferred. Excellent guest relation skills, ability to work well with others on a team and able to organize work; excellent verbal communication skills and able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously; follow-up skills also needed. Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Ability to handle emotional and mental demands of working under pressure of a fast paced environment. Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs general motion including bending, squatting, reaching, carrying, pushing and pulling. Manual dexterity, near visual acuity, and ability to discern colors. May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parental contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
