- prepare surgery packs
- assist in maintaining exam rooms - gauze, swabs, vaccines, syringes, sprays, etc.
- record notes while doctor is examining dog or cat
- start or add products/services on client record
- fill prescriptions for doctor and refill requests when doctor approves
- assist with x-rays and EKG's
- run in-house blood machine
- prepare outgoing lab requests
- assist receptionist with call-backs and pre/post surgery results
- monitor hospitalized patients throughout the day and communicate with doctor on their status (feeding, fluids, meds, urine and bowel movements, etc.
- assist in answering the phone
- help with supply maintenance
- work closely with staff to ensure all pets are properly taken care of in the kennel area, isolation, and outside runs
- assist doctor as needed
