Arborwood Elementary School Building Interventionist - 2 positions
Rate of Pay:
$200 per day and $100 per half day
Job Description:
An Interventionist provides academic support designed to broaden, extend and deepen the learning experience for identified at-risk students. This support is provided to students in flexible, small groups during the Intervention/Enrichment instructional period. Students receiving this support are determined by the classroom teacher, assessment data, and grant requirements. The Interventionist facilitates the instructional experiences to use with these students that meet their specific learning goals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Engages in research based best-practices that promote a successful learning environment for students.
- Utilizes appropriate content standards and benchmarks in preparing, delivering, and assessing student learning.
- Work during Intervention/Enrichment time with designated small groups of students
- Contribute information to and assist in maintaining assessment records
- Make recommendations of next steps for instruction to the classroom teacher
- Maintain ongoing communication with classroom teacher about student progress and assessment documentation
- Differentiate small group instruction to meet student needs
- Support procedural building needs
- Participate in building professional development
Qualifications:
- A teaching certificate
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with parents/guardians of students.
- A willingness to commit to ongoing professional development
- Registered substitute for MPS- Edustaff
- Ability to successfully manage small groups of students
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with students, families and staff creating positive relationships
- Experience working in a school setting
