JOB DESCRIPTION
FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER/STAFF ACCOUNTANT
The Bookkeeper is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting functions, as required.
The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Preparation of checks for firm operating and trust accounts
Classification of transactions to report revenue, deductible expenses, nondeductible expenses, and expenses subject to reimbursement
Timely completion of bank reconciliations for depository accounts
Maintenance of General ledger
Preparation of financial statements upon request
Maintenance of required business documents
Preparation of payroll including quarterly 941, quarterly tax filings, and annual W-2’s
Preparation of annual 1099’s
Maintenance of financial document retention files
Preparation of tax documentation to send to accounting firm
Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in accounting software (3 years minimum experience), Sage 50 software preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment
Highly organized and detail oriented
Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Thrives in a collaborative, team player office environment
Ability to interface well with staff, vendors, and clients
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
