We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Stage Manager to join our team at the theatre. In this role, you will be responsible for managing show operations for two residency shows from first call to closing duties. Performances currently take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
This is a part-time position, with shifts every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening/night. You may be needed for meetings or calls for another day during the week, but we can be flexible to accommodate scheduling as those needs arise. Responsibilities:
● Manage and distribute rehearsal and performance schedules and call times in coordination with the Stage Hand
● Communicate with the Technical Director any show specific needs from the cast for the production (knee pads, rosin, music stands, etc.)
● Assist the Technical Director with scheduling of weekly production meetings
● Oversee the management of rehearsals (call times, break times, meal breaks if applicable,
rehearsal notes, etc.); Run rehearsals post opening for any put ins, cleanings, etc.
● Notate and distribute all script/score changes and blocking notes
● Create running props and costume lists; Notate all prop tracking and quick changes
● Perform all repairs and maintenance to costumes and accessories before and after shows
● Maintain adequate stocks of necessary materials, in consultation with the Technical Director; Propose to the Technical Director/CEO the purchase of tools and equipment as necessary
● Ensure the safe storage and, where appropriate, disposal of costumes, costume materials and equipment; Maintain a regular cleaning and washing routine for all costume pieces
● Maintain all props and furniture needed for SHINERS and any incoming show that needs prop assistance
● Participate in the load in and load out of all Woolworth Theatre productions; Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy and in compliance with fire code regarding clearance, etc.
● Create and distribute rehearsal and performance reports that include notes for all departments (lights, sound, costumes, production, cast, etc.)
● In coordination with the Technical Director, lead all technical rehearsals (cue to cue, etc.); Participate in any training needed for the technical run of the show; Record position of all cues and maintain the calling script with all cue information
● Manage backstage crew; Create and distribute preset lists and run sheets for backstage crew
● Find solutions to potential safety problems (glow tape on set pieces, covered corners on sharp set pieces, etc.)
● Coordinate with Front of House to Open House for performances
● Call all show cues including winch, lights, sound, LED wall, actors, etc.
● Operate venue’s primary show-control software, QLab (which controls video content on LED wall, audio tracks and certain lighting cues)
● Maintain visible spike marks on stage for all resident shows
You Have:
- At least two years of experience as a stage manager in a professional environment
- Success and ability in project management
- Working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, etc.
- Working knowledge of theatrical technologies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively, with a good sense of humor and a mindset to overcome obstacles
- Ability to respect and embrace diversity with cast and crew from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds
- A flexible schedule (days/nights, late/early hours, weekends, and holidays) as needed for re-blocks, new acts or other changes to residency shows
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Verification of the right to work in the United States

- Choreography
- Sewing/Costuming - minor alterations, refresh/repair of existing pieces
