JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business or Accounting (with manufacturing principles and prior experience a must)
- Masters degree desired (compliments in the area of engineering / operations)
- 12+ years of financial / accounting experience - manufacturing environment a must
- Managerial level experience a must - well versed in all aspects of operational finance / accounting, with site finance partnership located in various manufacturing sites
- Well organized, structured individual who demonstrates the ability to multi-task and also project manage plus monthly maintaining of costing and inventory transactional information.
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence functional areas of the business, based on data-driven analytics
- Via data manipulation (consolidation and analysis), explain and clearly define manufacturing and inventory cost trends
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Vice President of Finance - leads the effort across the company to control (design and set policy) for all aspects of product standard costing.
- Drives efforts, cross-functionally, to ensure the needs of the standard cost system are accomplished and provide the business with data to drive decisions.
- Supports product gross margin analysis, via costing data trends.
- Analyzes monthly manufacturing results, to ensure overhead rates are in line with budget expectations. Including: spend, volume, mix. Works with site finance and consolidates information.
- Explains variances: volume, spending – as it pertains to manufacturing output – consolidated and via input from site finance.
- Delineates site cost structure into fixed and variable – to aid with use in product and product line profitability analysis (and) cost setting.
- Leads the effort of supplying product costs for purposes of price setting on new business items
- Builds ad hoc models to understand profitability impact for things such as Excess & Obsolete inventory
- Drives change, working cross-functionally, to improve business results through data driven metrics
- Measures direct labor efficiency and productivity
- Creates and maintains labor models, understanding: utilization of available hours, and standards deviations.
- Creates labor reporting to fully understand proper labor sizing through detailed hours reporting: comparing actual to standard
- Works closely with Industrial Engineering to ensure labor standards are accurate and representative, through labor routing reviews
- Maintains proper inventory reserves and fully manages monthly variance capitalization schedules (capitalizing period variances into inventory – releasing them to the P/L associated with inventory turns.
- Reports on inventory levels, setting and measuring target progress and identifying impactful trends to working capital
- Drives the Supply Chain to achieve needed inventory levels, while not damaging customer satisfaction ratings
- Works closely as a Sourcing / Procurement Financial Business partner, providing purchasing and vendor metric performance to a team of buyers and commodity managers.
- Also partners with and supports NY manufacturing (two sites) with financial reporting, metric tracking, cost controls and general overall financial business partnering with site functional leaders.
- Measures and reports out on PPV (trending and analysis)
- Leads and mentors subordinates, both at the corporate level and site level, setting goals and objectives that align with the greater corporate G&O’s.
Salary Range: $140-$170k DOE
